IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THIS:
By accessing or using the City of Petaluma Online Bill Pay website, you agree to be bound by all of the Terms this Agreement. If you do not accept these terms and conditions, do not use this website.
Please check the Terms of Service frequently as The City of Petaluma may unilaterally modify the Terms of Service at any time, and you agree that such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting of the modified Agreement. The most up to date version of the Terms of Service will always be available for your review on this website. Your continued use of this website after any such modifications, will constitute your acceptance of such modifications.
The City of Petaluma Online Bill Pay Service is provided to facilitate access to view and pay your statements online. The Online Bill Pay Service sends information about your City of Petaluma account statements directly to your email account which you provided on enrollment into the system and allows you to pay the statements online. The email sent to your email account on file will include a digitized copy of your current bill.
The City of Petaluma and its partners will make every reasonable effort to ensure full performance of the Online Bill Pay Service and, on a timely basis, work with you to resolve any disputes that may arise. The City of Petaluma does not assume responsibility for delays or service interruptions which may occur in public communications facilities not under its control which may affect the accuracy or timeliness of email messages you receive from this website.
Any information sent by The City of Petaluma to you through this website via email is believed to be reliable and accurate. The City of Petaluma will not be liable for any deficiencies in the accuracy, completeness, availability or timeliness of such information or for any decision made using this information.
In addition, please take note of the following guidelines, which will assist you in detecting certain types of Internet and email fraud (i.e. "phishing").
- The City of Petaluma will never send you an e-mail requesting you to validate personal information electronically.
- The City of Petaluma will never ask you to update your social security number, date of birth, or driver's license number via e-mail.
- Once you have enrolled in Online Bill Pay, you can update your personal information by logging into your account to make the appropriate changes.
The City of Petaluma does not make any warranties concerning the Online Bill Pay service including, without limitation, any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement of third party proprietary rights unless disclaiming such warranties is prohibited by law. The City of Petaluma makes no warranties other than those expressly set forth in this agreement. The City of Petaluma will not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from the use of this site, including, but not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential and punitive damages. You expressly agree that your use of this site is at your sole risk.
The City of Petaluma is committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal information is collected and stored by the City's vendor and is used only for applying your payments and displaying your statements online. The City of Petaluma does not store or maintain any of your personal information that is submitted to this website.
You agree that you will not intentionally provide false information when accessing or using the City of Petaluma Online Bill Pay services. You also agree that you will not falsify, forge, or otherwise tamper with any information in the emails you receive as part of the Online Bill Pay service.
The Online Bill Pay website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of the information you provide. Our Online Payment server software conforms to industry standards utilizing Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, a leading industry standard available for securing commerce transactions.
By signing up for Online Bill Pay, you are opting in to receive direct email communications related to Water Conservation, as well as other important news from the City of Petaluma. If you would prefer not to receive emails from the City of Petaluma that are not related to your water bill, you may unsubscribe HERE or at the link in the footer of each email.
Automatic Payments
Automatic payments will continue to be processed against your assigned payment profile. Changes to your contact and other information can be made online within your account settings. City of Petaluma reserves the right to terminate your participation in the recurring payment program if your payment is rejected repeatedly.
Refund Policy
Electronic payments made in excess of the total bill amount invoiced will show as a credit on the customer's next electronic bill statement. Questions concerning refunds of erroneous payments may be addressed in writing to the City of Petaluma Customer Service Department. If approved by the Customer Services Department after inquiry, the refund will be made in the form of a check made payable to the name on the City of Petaluma Utility Billing account for the address in question. The inquiry and refund process may take up to 60 days.
Privacy Policy
The City of Petaluma is committed to protecting your privacy. Your information is collected and stored by the City's vendor and is used only for applying your payments and displaying your statements online. The City of Petaluma does not store or maintain any personal information that is submitted to this website, except for your name, mailing addresses and andy changes thereto. Additionally, your information is protected and will never be sold by the City of Petaluma or its vendor to a third party for marketing purposes.
Our Credit Card Data Responsibility
We are responsible for the merchant cardholder data that our system stores or transmits on behalf of the customer, and will maintain compliance with all applicable PCI DSS requirements. Customers are requested to notify us in the event that they experience issues that may affect the security, availability or privacy of the services they are utilizing.
